- $35.97 - $38.24 per hour (dependent on experience) + superannuation for the part time role
- $44.96 - $47.81 per hour including casual loading (dependent on experience) + superannuation for the casual role
About the role
As a Library Officer, you will help maximise community use and appreciation of Glen Eira’s libraries by delivering courteous, responsive customer service. As part of a team, you will engage with visitors to create a positive, inclusive library experience.
Other responsibilities include:
- Deliver excellent and friendly customer focused service by providing prompt and courteous attention to customers in a self-serve environment
- Participate in storytime and babytime sessions (for the part time role)
- Assist patrons with the use of self-serve kiosks, WiFi, and print management system as well as basic computer help
- Work weekdays, evenings and weekends and at any branch of Glen Eira Libraries according to a roster
- Accurately shelve, shelf-read and display collections to ensure that library materials are accessible and attractive to library customers at all times
About you
You are approachable, service-focused, and passionate about helping others access library services and resources. With strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset, you thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy supporting a diverse community of library users. An interest in supporting storytime activities for children would be appreciated.
The following is also required:
- Significant customer service skills
- Information technology skills and experience with a range of IT and software tools
- Current Victorian driver’s license
