  • Bridge project delivery and operations to ensure long-term asset sustainability.
  • Lead asset integration across all Victorian rail infrastructure projects.
  • Flexible, outcome-focused culture with hybrid work options.

V/Line’s purpose is to connect Victorians through safe, reliable, and accessible transport. We believe in giving all Victorians opportunities through travel and transport – connecting them to jobs, education, family and friends, services, tourism and trade.

We are experiencing significant growth and delivering more services, more trains, cheaper fares, and huge projects. With more than 3700 weekly train and coach services, an expansive freight network and unprecedented rail investment, millions of Victorians depend on us to deliver. You could be one of our 3100 committed team members who are up to the challenge.

About the role

As Manager, Asset Integration, you will play a critical role in ensuring that new infrastructure projects are delivered with long-term maintenance and operational needs in mind. Acting as the key liaison between State Projects and V/Line, you will lead stakeholder engagement, facilitate integration workshops, and embed maintenance requirements early in the project lifecycle.

Your focus will be on ensuring V/Line is fully informed, prepared for asset handover, and equipped for ongoing operations. This includes aligning project outcomes with maintenance strategies, supporting operational readiness, and ensuring the final infrastructure is fit for purpose and sustainable.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Lead stakeholder engagement and facilitate integration workshops.
  • Ensure maintenance requirements are embedded early in project planning and throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Oversee site visits, audits, and operational readiness activities.
  • Lead a team of interface managers, engineers and technical specialists.
  • Balance project delivery with long-term asset management and maintenance performance.
  • Develop and implement asset integration strategies and frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and lifecycle standards.
  • Support the transition of new assets into ongoing maintenance operations.
  • Providing a consistent approach on asset assurance, integration and readiness into the project lifecycle.
  • Enhancing strategic alignment and collaboration across key teams to support successful delivery of Big Build transport projects.
  • Supporting change management processes and securing leadership endorsement for state projects within the broader strategic governance group.
  • Providing a single point of contact for all non-technical asset integration queries related to asset management.

About you

You’re a confident and strategic leader who thrives in complex, fast-paced environments. You understand the intricacies of infrastructure delivery and know how to advocate for long-term asset outcomes without losing sight of project goals. You’re collaborative, assertive when needed, and skilled at navigating competing priorities with clarity and purpose.

You’re not just technically capable - you’re a relationship builder, a problem solver, and someone who can see the big picture while managing the details.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • A track record of success in stakeholder-heavy environments.
  • Experience facilitating workshops and driving alignment across diverse groups.
  • The ability to influence, challenge, and collaborate effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in navigating complex project environments with competing priorities.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to translate technical detail into operational outcomes.
  • A passion for shaping infrastructure that serves communities now and into the future.
  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Level 1 Track Safety Awareness, or willingness to obtain.
  • Demonstrated alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Qualification

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, business, or project management.

Highly regarded

  • Experience in rail, transport, or infrastructure sectors.
