We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Leadership Academy to help build a confident, capable, and connected leadership culture, one that lifts performance, enables growth, and enhances the employee experience.
In this pivotal role, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise-wide leadership and organisational development initiatives. You’ll be responsible for implementing La Trobe’s custom-built Leadership Strategy and Framework, establishing and maintaining the La Trobe Leadership Academy, and overseeing the delivery of our flagship Leadership Redefined program and future Leadership Induction. Your work will directly shape how leaders lead, how teams perform, and how our people thrive.
You’ll manage a small, high-performing team and play a central role in delivering initiatives that span leadership, capability, performance, and employee experience. Working closely with colleagues across People and Culture and the wider University, you’ll translate strategic priorities into meaningful and lasting outcomes.
We’re looking for someone with a proactive mindset and strong sense of ownership, someone who takes initiative, values high standards, and brings energy and purpose to their work. If you're a collaborative, future-focused leader who thrives in complex environments, we’d love to hear from you.
Some of your duties will include:
- Lead the implementation of the University’s Leadership Strategy and Framework, including establishing the La Trobe Leadership Academy and delivering Leadership Redefined, ensuring alignment with broader performance, capability, and culture initiatives.
- Design, deliver and continuously improve enterprise-wide leadership and capability programs, frameworks, and self-service resources that build workforce capability, support strategic priorities, and reflect contemporary practice.
- Build strong, trusted partnerships across the University, engaging senior stakeholders and providing expert advice to ensure shared ownership of leadership outcomes and high levels of satisfaction.
- Develop and deliver engaging leadership experiences, including workshops, toolkits, presentations, and communications tailored to diverse audiences and grounded in adult learning and instructional design principles.
Skills & Experience:
- Extensive experience leading enterprise-level leadership and organisational development initiatives in large or complex organisations.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with a strong focus on delivering impactful outcomes.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, advise, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across a diverse university context.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning capability, with the ability to translate insight into action and align programs to organisational priorities.
- A relevant qualification in organisational development, leadership, or a related field—and/or equivalent extensive experience.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach, with a commitment to quality, ownership, and continuous improvement.
