Primary objective
Provide exemplary leadership, management, and strategic oversight to the Central Region Staff Hub. Develop and maintain a quality
consumer service approach to candidate management across recruitment, on-boarding, staff accommodation, rostering, and compliance.
Utilise collaborative, contemporary, and innovative practices that improve overall candidate care and meet workforce needs within Central
Australia.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide strategic direction and advice in respect to the appointment and on-boarding processes for various recruitment methods and
other associated activities, including accommodation services and rostering and compliance, aimed at securing high quality talent
acquisition. Lead the redesign and implementation of processes relating to compliant recruitment and on-boarding.
2. Develop and maintain positive, collaborative and strong working relationships to enable effective liaison with all stakeholders.
3. Contribute to the review of relevant policies and procedures related to recruitment, on boarding and accommodation for eligible new
staff and prepare high level briefs, reports and recommendations to senior management on workforce data and trends, to facilitate
active engagement at all levels of the organisation.
4. Provide high level leadership, direction and support to ensure the unit operates effectively and efficiently.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to
ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
6. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high level knowledge of contemporary financial and human resource management issues, specifically pertaining to the
attraction and retention of staff as they relate to NT Health and the Central Australia Region.
2. Demonstrated high level experience in a wide range of recruitment practices across various professional streams including visa
management and the ability to interpret and apply relevant industrial instruments (legislation, By-laws, determinations, EBA and
policies to ensure compliance.
3. Demonstrated high level experience providing strong leadership, strategic thinking, practical people management and the ability to
successfully implement and support change in a dynamic and complex environment.
4. Demonstrated experience leading a large diverse team, with a strong focus on providing a quality service responsive to regional
workforce needs, collaborative stakeholder engagement and quality candidate care.
5. Demonstrated highly developed written and oral communication skills, the ability to communicate with influence across a wide range
of audiences to provide clear and considered advice, and negotiating as required.
6. Proven high-level of motivation and ability to set priorities, manage departmental change and provide information/recommendations
to the Executive teams.
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex enquiries and complaints, including the investigation and development of
recommendations for consideration, and diffuse situations with clients and staff.
8. Advanced computer competency and demonstrated experience in the use of computerised information, database management and
data analysis with the ability to adapt and respond to complex challenges.
Desirable
1. Degree or post graduate qualification in Public Sector Management or Human Resources
2. Knowledge of the NT Residential and Tenancies Acts.
