About the role
You will be responsible for the leadership and continual development of the Student Advocacy and International Student Support team, ensuring that students receive timely and relevant supports that promote and foster the development of the skills needed to succeed.
You will:
- lead a specialised team ensuring that the requirements of the Federal Government in Higher Education Support Guidelines 2022 are followed;
- review and develop policy and procedures, and implement recommendations;
- ensure all advice, policies and procedures and work related to international student support is consistent with the ESOS Act and National Code, FedUni policies and procedures, and strategic direction, and legislative instruments; and
- continuously monitor and improve the Student Advocacy and International Student Support services to provide best practice advice and support to students.
About you
You will possess demonstrated ability to plan, manage and deliver a range of comprehensive, diverse, high-quality services across multiple locations, including leading the evaluation of and continuous improvement and innovation of service initiatives that enhance the student experience.
You will possess demonstrated:
- sound understanding of issues and challenges facing international students of numerous diverse backgrounds and the requirements of the ESOS Act and National Code;
- ability to apply rapidly and accurately, legislative and/or policy change to changed operational work practices;
- ability to lead, manage, coach and develop staff and provide positive leadership to support staff in achieving quality and timely outcomes; and
- ability to strategically influence and persuade clients and management across a large and complex organisation.
