This position will provide expert advice and support to the Strategy, Risk and Capability function within Marine Rescue Queensland (MRQ). You will lead the development, coordination and evaluation of various projects relating to Strategy, Risk and Capability, understand how the business works and plan future business continuity requirements. You will partner collaboratively with specialists, Manager - Strategy, Risk and Capability and wider MRQ and QPS Management to develop and implement robust, future focussed strategies and provide high-level strategic advice on projects to support the operational capability of a new integrated marine rescue service. Your key accountabilities
The core capability requirements for this role are:
- Manage and contribute to the development, accreditation, evaluation, and moderation of a diverse range of training programs and strategies relevant to Marine Rescue Services.
- Coordinate training and development deliverables for a variety of projects in consultation with internal and external stakeholders relevant to Marine Rescue Services, embedded within state-wide capability framework.
- Provide advice and assistance with organisational change management activities relative to legislative amendments, best practice, marine orders, changes in technology or business practices relevant to Marine Rescue Services.
- Conduct training needs analysis to facilitate the provision of expert advice to management concerning training and development relevant to MRQ.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement operational policies and procedures to support business continuity.
- Design evaluation, feedback, and quality assurance framework to gauge the effectiveness of policy and procedures uplift, training and development relevant to MRQ.
- Represent MRQ at internal and external forums and prepare and present reports, briefings, and submissions on the implementation of capability development strategies and activities.
Role Requirements
Qualification
- While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or accredited tertiary qualification in adult education would be highly regarded.
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
- Disaster Management Experience
- Experience in operational policy development will be highly regarded.
- Experience in Maritime Search and Rescue Organisations' (national/international) will be highly regarded.
Other
- Ability to travel intra-state in alignment with service requirements.
