Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
You will be responsible for the primary representation of the Allied Health Department, maintaining exceptional reception, performing clerical duties and providing an efficient and timely administration service to our Consultants, patients and all stakeholders both internally and externally.
In this role, you will ensure that all computer data entries, invoicing, reporting and other administrative functions are carried out in a professional and timely manner.
The Position
- Maintain confidentiality in line with Code of Conduct & comply with all St John of God Health Care Policies and Procedures. Protects patients’ rights by maintaining privacy of medical, personal, and financial information at all times.
- Responsible for medical receptionist tasks in a professional and timely manner, duties include, customer service, answering telephones, cash handling, including the use of HICAPS, EFTPOS facilities and Medicare Rebates.
- Greeting patients politely and ensuring that the appointment system is run efficiently, managing queues through telephone, email and face to face interaction.
- Advise patients of billing processes, issue invoices and receipts, process payments, prepare banking and reconcile accounts.
- Information collection and management - able to collect, organize and monitor data efficiently.
- Booking, cancelling and rescheduling of appointments.
- Follow-up of accounts, DVA, TAC, Medicare, Workcover.
- Schedule hospital theatre lists, tests and obtain external medical reports as required by medical professionals, as necessary.
You will have experience working in an Allied Health Department setting with varying degrees of established processes and systems.
To succeed you will have computer and word-processing skills that demonstrate your experience in using MS Office package (Word, Excel), email and the internet and use of patient information/recall database systems

- Salary: $38.23 to $39.28 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
