Mackay Hospital and Health Service has six hospitals, two multi-purpose health services and four community health centres that employ more than 3,300 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina. Sarina Hospital is located within the township of Sarina, approximately 30 minutes drive south of Mackay, making it the closest located rural facility to Mackay Base Hospital. Sarina Hospital provides admitted and non-admitted services, with inpatients, 24-hour Emergency Department, Outpatients Clinics and Community Services.
Salary Information (L13-L14, L13-L17, L18-L24, L25-L27)
Remuneration value up to $498,497 p.a. comprising salary between $244,313 p.a.-$266,677 p.a. (L24-L27), remuneration value up to $398,704 p.a. comprising salary between $182,106 p.a.-$210,332 p.a. (L13-L18); employer superannuation contribution (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5% on four weeks), inaccessiblity incentive scheme, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., professional indemnity cover, plus overtime and on-call allowances.
Your opportunity
To provide high quality multidisciplinary clinical services in accordance with Sarina Hospital's objectives, to public inpatients, outpatients and accident and emergency cases of the Sarina Hospital and Primary Health Care Centre.
Mandatory qualifications/Other requirements
Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association.
Registration with the Medical Board of Australia with Specialist registration and
Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is essential or;
Fellowship or eligibility for Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) is essential.
Recent skills update in Emergency Medicine will be an advantage (e.g. EMST).
Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing continuing Medical Education programs of RACGP/ACRRM.
Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements
