An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychologist or Mental Health Nurse to join the team at Hotham Street Community Mental Health Team in Preston.
Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.
About the Role:
Hotham Street Clinic is now seeking expressions of interest for all who would like to progress their careers as a Mental Health Clinician and become a pivotal part in the future of Mental Health.
The Community Team located at Hotham Street, Preston you will deliver comprehensive, high-quality mental health services to adults experiencing severe mental illnesses.
These services encompass assessment, treatment, care coordination, and support within an integrated care model.
In this role you will be required to assist consumers with recovery-oriented support and use bio-psychosocial framework to service delivery, working collaboratively with consumers, their families and carers, as well as other clinical and support services. Additionally, specialized profession-specific services are provided.
The Community Mental Health Clinician collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver case management, specialized mental health assessments, and intervention. The clinician also assumes key responsibilities for assigned consumers and their families or carers.

- Provide recovery-oriented care including assessment and development of interventions in collaboration with consumers/carers/families and other service providers including GP’s NDIS service providers and other stakeholders.
- Provide discipline specific evidence-based practice and appropriate treatment options as required.
- Partake in discipline specific clinical supervision and workload management.
- Contribute in ongoing professional development activities and in-service training and sharing new found knowledge with the clinical team.
- Experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of severe mental illness and psychiatric disability.
- Capacity to undertake alcohol and other drug screening, assessment, treatment planning, brief interventions with clients who have a co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development for self and for team members.
- A current Victorian Driver’s License, and ongoing ability to use this form of transport.
