Sonder is the lead agency of headspace Adelaide, headspace Edinburgh North, headspace Marion and headspace Onkaparinga.

About the Role:
Use your lived experience to provide culturally safe support to multicultural young people and their families experiencing mental health challenges. This role focuses on family-inclusive practice, community engagement, and reducing stigma, while supporting access to care. You'll work closely with the headspace team to co-develop resources, enhance cultural safety, and empower families throughout the treatment journey. Accredited training (e.g. Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work) and cultural supervision will be fully supported. Make a real difference in a role that values lived experience, inclusion, and recovery!
Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience working within a fast-paced environment;
- Has experienced being a family member/carer of an individual experiencing a mental illness or has their own lived experience of mental illness and has demonstrable experience of recovery.
- Understanding of public and private mental health systems.
- Understanding of recovery and strength based practice for Peer Practitioners.
- Demonstrating appropriate boundaries especially in regards to self-disclosure. For instance; not oversharing and focusing on strengths and recovery from mental health difficulties. Understanding professional principles such as confidentiality
Qualification and Other Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Mental Health / Peer Work or equivalent
- Sonder are committed to supporting individuals reach qualifications required for this role and can discuss the incumbent working towards the certificate rather than already achieved.
- Drivers Licence
- Current or willing to obtain a Working with Children's Check (WWCC)
- Current or willing to obtain a National Police Clearance
