We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Night Manager (Part-Time) to join our team and lead our night operations. As the Night Manager, you will ensure smooth and efficient hotel operations during the overnight shift, delivering a seamless guest experience and ensuring the safety and security of our guests and team.
Minimum shift requirement is 2 night shifts per week, Friday/Saturday nights or Sunday/Monday Nights. You will be onsite at the hotel and responsible for the smooth running of the hotel during the overnight hours.
Potential for additional Reception shifts from 3:00pm – 11:30pm if interested.
Job Description
- Independently manage the overnight operations of the hotel.
- Manage guest relations and handle any complaints or issues that arise during the night shift.
- Conduct night audits, ensuring financial transactions and reports are accurate
- Ensure the safety and security of all hotel guests and staff by conducting regular property checks
- Support the front office, ensuring exceptional service and efficiency in check-ins, check-outs, and guest queries
- Provide food and beverage service for hotel guests including bar service, food preparation and preparing espresso coffees.
- Assist with hotel reservations answering emails in the hotel inbox and making reservations both via the telephone and online.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure guests’ needs are met
- Manage emergency situations, including medical issues, fire alarms, or security concerns
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, procedures, and regulations
- Train new starters in Night Audit procedures as required.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in hotel leadership
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to guest service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of hotel management systems is an advantage (e.g., Opera cloud, Shiji POS, and basic accounting skills for night audits)
- Flexibility to work night shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Must be able to commit to 2 Night Shifts per week.
- A professional and approachable manner, with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Current First Aid and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certifications mandatory.
