Following our recent success in securing the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) tender as a specialist refugee provider, Settlement Services International (SSI) has exciting opportunities to join our team delivering culturally responsive, trauma-informed employment services across 18 Employment Service Areas in NSW, Victoria, and Queensland, through a hub-and-spoke model that supports refugee communities in their journey towards meaningful employment.
About the Role
The Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in the delivery of SSI’s Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program funded by the Department of Social Services under the IEA DEED/funding agreement across assigned Employment Services Areas (ESA’s).
This position provides strategic oversight and operational direction to ensure high-quality services and outcomes for job seekers, with a focus on people with disability and refugees. The Operations Manager is accountable for service excellence, contract compliance, and the achievement of key performance indicators in accordance with the IEA DEED.

Essential Criteria
- Relevant qualifications in Business Management, Leadership, or a related field, or a willingness to work towards obtaining them.
- Proven experience leading high-performing teams across multiple regions, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service, compliance, and operational outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to meet financial targets, grow profitability, and support business growth.
- Customer-focused leadership style, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to exceed service standards, KPIs, and business goals.
- Demonstrated empathy and understanding when working with job seekers and clients from diverse backgrounds.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and national labour markets.
- Successful track record in business development, sales, or marketing, supported by strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Commitment to ethical practice, accountability, and professional integrity.
- Previous program or operational leadership experience within the Australian Employment Services sector, particularly in disability employment (highly regarded).
- Understanding of the barriers faced by people with disability or mental illness in securing employment, or relevant lived experience (desirable).
- Experience working with, or an understanding of, the needs of CALD and refugee communities, or lived experience within these communities (desirable).
