Job Description
Optical Dispensers are responsible for providing reception and dispensing services to OWH patients and customers. You will also liaise with Optometrists and Dispensing staff to assist patients in the selection of suitable frames and lenses based on their prescription requirements, and any associated administrative work. Working as part of a team to ensure the optical frame displays are stocked and well-presented, you will operate a range of in-store technology, supporting both the clinical and retail parts of the business.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager and Optometrist/s with the execution of Retail and Clinical objectives.
- Dispense, adjust and repair spectacles as well as support the sale of other ophthalmic devices, such as contact lenses.
- Provide support to other members of the team in the performance of their roles and responsibilities when necessary.
- Role model exceptional customer service while maintaining professionalism and integrity.
- Appropriately apply technical skills to standard dispensing tasks in accordance with Australian Standards, including but not limited to:
- Interpretation and dispensing of prescriptions and prescriptions optical appliances
- Taking facial measurements for optical appliances
- Assist with spectacle frame and contact lens ordering; reviewing the supplied product from our suppliers to ensure compliance with Australian Standards have been met on the prescription ordered.
Skills
- Some experience working as an Optical Dispenser.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to represent the Optometrist Warehouse Brand to patients and customers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably also Optometry Operating/Patient Management Systems (such as Optomate, Sunix or Socrates).
