As a Wholesale Payments Operations Associate in our Sydney team, you will play a pivotal role in managing critical payment operations and projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your skills in local banking processes, Data Analytics, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and regulations to make a significant impact.
As an Operations Associate in the Sydney team, you will support the fastest growing business in the industry. Your role will require Payments knowledge, strong Data Analytics, Business Management, Project management and Stakeholder management skills, along with a deep understanding of local banking processes, products, and regulations related to payments and clearing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support High Value Clearing payments, CHESS Settlement and RITS Management.
- Perform daily monitoring of critical Payments functions and activities.
- Act as a backup for operational activities related to Cheques Clearing, Cash Transfers, BPAY, High Value Clearing, and Cross-border transactions.
- Support Business management related activities like preparing presentations for local, regional and global forums.
- Partner closely with Treasury Team, Product, Client Service and other stakeholders locally and regionally.
- Support regional initiatives related to People Agenda and represent Sydney branch in all relevant forums.
- Partner with local and regional teams for operational matters.
- Assist and drive key projects, daily tasks, and exception management.
- Ensure timely completion of daily tasks and address exceptions and inquiries promptly.
- Liaise with partner banks, review and update service level agreements, and conduct regular calls to ensure updated policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Product, Technology, Compliance, Sales, and Implementation teams to drive the broader franchise agenda.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Good knowledge and experience in Banking, Finances, Accounting and Data Analytics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with an emphasis on Accounting, Data Analytics, AI/ML related projects.
- Good influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent process and analytical skills with the ability to work in a complex, matrixed environment. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and develop strong partnerships across diverse teams.
