About the role
The Payroll Officer processes and administers end to end payroll activities to ensure all payroll transactions are administered correctly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Process and maintain the end-to-end payroll function and ensure compliance with current Awards, legislation, provisions, guidelines, contracts, policies & procedures.
- Process and administer superannuation payments, payroll tax, workers compensation and other payments on a monthly or required basis.
- Perform payroll administration and maintain employee records including setting up new starters, terminations and payments, pay increases and back-pays.
- Monitor and maintain the integrity of the payroll functions and systems and ensure internal control procedures are met and comply with legislative requirements.
- Provide statutory reconciliations, month-end and other payroll analysis reports when required.
- Prepare and upload monthly payroll journals.
- Process partners drawings.
- Compile and generate monthly and year end reconciliation of payroll to the general ledger reports for analysis.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and data integrity.
To be considered for this role, you will have;
Essential
- Proven experience and/or knowledge in payroll processes and functions.
- Experience in a professional services environment.
- TAFE or tertiary qualification in Accounting
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Experience with Aderant Practice Management Software
- Experience with Definitiv Payroll system
