About the opportunity:
We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Payroll Team Leader to join our team based in Brisbane. In this role, you will lead and support the payroll team in delivering accurate and timely payroll services across a large, multi-site organisation. You’ll ensure compliance with legislation and internal policies, maintain payroll data integrity, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Your new role will involve:
- Leading and supervising the payroll team to ensure effective service delivery and team engagement.
- Overseeing the accurate processing of wages, superannuation, fringe benefits, and deductions.
- Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, enterprise agreements, and internal policies.
- Maintaining payroll systems and records and recommending improvements where needed.
- Supporting finance with reconciliations and reporting deadlines.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for payroll-related compliance, audits, and system upgrades.
- Promoting strong stakeholder relationships and contributing to service level achievement.
About you:
- Proven experience managing payroll teams and fostering a positive team culture.
- Demonstrated experience in payroll processing for large, multi-site organisations.
- Strong working knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems and payroll legislation.
- High-level understanding of awards, certified agreements, and payroll accounting.
- Proficient in payroll administration, superannuation, PAYG, and salary packaging.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and related software.
- Ability to travel occasionally and meet compliance requirements including police clearance.
