About Me
Hello! I am an 18-year-old female living with Borderline Personality Disorder, Intellectual Disability and Autism in Plympton Park. I love animals and have a pet Bunny called Pip! Pip loves pats and cuddles. I enjoy spending my time outdoors walking and going to the beach. I have a passion for reading young adult novels.
I am looking for outgoing Support Workers to assist me in achieving my NDIS goals. I would like the person supporting me to possess a calm nature and engage with me when I am experiencing a crisis. I would like my team to follow the strategies outlined in my positive behaviour support plan and safety plan.
The Role
An Opportunity is available to join my team of resilient support workers who help to facilitate my daily life. My support workers assist me on a 2 to 1 model.
Due to some of the challenges I face, I tend to withdraw. In this instance, I would like you to distract me and assist me with my emotions. My behaviour can be challenging and confronting for staff at times as I have limited capacity to regulate my emotions. However, the strategies outlined in my positive behaviour support plan will assist you to support me.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisted daily living tasks.
- In home activities such as arts and crafts
- Supporting me to engage with the community.
- Support me to achieve my goals to reach my potential in all facets of my life.
- Support my life skill development through proper implementation of established plans and programs to support the achievement of goal outcomes for me.
- Actively engage in person centred active support.
- Maintain accurate records.
Shifts
I am looking for someone to support me on a part time basis.
The ideal candidate will have:
- NDIS Worker Screening or DHS Disability related check
- WWCC
- Current Driver's Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current CPR
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability/Aged Care) or other relevant qualification
About you:
I am looking for a positive and resilient person to join my team. A good match for me would be someone who is fun and upbeat.
Other requirements:
- Experience in working with people with behaviours of concern.
- Experience supporting a person with restrictive practices in place.
- Trauma informed care
- Ability to implement individualised developmental programs.
- Experience implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
- Flexible working hours
- Experience in various models of support preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changes in service delivery.
