What you’ll be doing
Engage with the community and key stakeholders (including government and non-government organisations, Local Health Districts, peak bodies and advocacy groups) to develop, implement and evaluate tobacco and vaping control and cessation activities, with the aim of decreasing smoking and vaping prevalence in NSW.
The Portfolio Manager-Tobacco and Vaping works within the Cancer Screening and Prevention Division and is a senior member of the Prevention team. The role is responsible for the delivery of digital smoking and vaping cessation services and works in close partnership with the NSW Quitline service. This is a challenging and rewarding role, with broad strategic scope and a strong focus on partnerships across sectors.
Remuneration/Benefits
In addition to base salary:
- 12% superannuation
- 4 weeks annual leave (plus 17.5% leave loading)

- 40 hours per week which include accrual of monthly Allocated Day Off (ADO) x 12 per year.

Essential requirements
- Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in population health, health policy, health promotion and/or social marketing.
- Knowledge and experience implementing projects in health settings, including the application of project management principles, methods and techniques.
- Experience leading partnered initiatives within a health context.
- Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of projects to meet objectives and timelines.
If successful for interview candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy to provide to panel.
