Opportunity to work as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow based at the Royal North Shore Hospital
Base Salary $127,436 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
We’re seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a collaborative and globally recognised team focused on epidemiology, burden, prevention and cure of arthritis, autoimmune and broader musculoskeletal conditions. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to high-impact publications, work with international partners, and help shape the future of health outcomes through rigorous research and data-driven insights.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Conduct and publish original research in musculoskeletal health on the broad range of arthritis, autoimmune and other musculoskeletal conditions, including contributions to high-impact journals.
Coordinate collaborative research activities such as writing groups, project contracts, national and international newsletters and multi-author publications.
Contribute to securing research funding through the preparation of competitive grant applications and contributing to impactful translational research initiatives.
Liaise with national and international research partners to manage data access, publication processes, and research dissemination.
Oversee project operations, including budget management, tracking invoice payments, and ensuring timely delivery of milestones and reporting.
Provide supervision and informal mentoring to research students and junior academics, while contributing to a supportive and collegial team environment.
About you
Have completed a PhD in a musculoskeletal field
Experience in the health system through clinical care and clinical research in musculoskeletal conditions
Knowledge of and experience with Good Clinical Practice and Biobanking Guidelines and Certification
Proven experience conducting original research and contributing to scholarly publications, with an excellent research profile in your area of expertise.
Experience providing supervision or informal mentoring to students or junior colleagues, and a collaborative approach to team-based research environments.
Strong planning, organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple research priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver effective presentations and engage with a range of academic and professional audiences.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with academic, industry and professional stakeholders.
