THE ROLE

The Principal Advisor position provides a great opportunity for a high-performing individual to formulate partnerships to shape housing and homelessness reform for the Victorian Aboriginal community. This will be done through developing strong relationships with the Aboriginal community and with various departments across government. You will be part of a small, dynamic fast-paced team which develops, evaluates and implements policies advice and key programs at a strategic level and liaises closely with those working at an operational level. You will have demonstrable experience of being a critical and analytical thinker; being proactive and organised; and having excellent stakeholder management, communication and project management skills.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Providing key strategic advice across whole of government to support the implementation of the VAHHF.
  • Aligning and contributing to other frameworks and governance, including Aboriginal Justice Forum, Korin Korin Balit Djak (KKBD), Aboriginal Strategic Governance Forum and Dhelk Dja: Safe Our Way: Strong Culture, Strong Peoples, Strong Families
  • Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
