- Supporting the freight industry by subsidising rail freight services and managing rail freight contracts.
Key responsibilities
In the role of Principal Advisor (Rail Delivery), you will coordinate and manage key deliverables and relationships to enable successful delivery of major rail projects.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Strategic Rail Branch in implementing SEQ Rail Connect and delivering on rail investment priorities.
- Engaging and managing specialist consultant services to deliver studies, investigations, and project assessment documentation.
- Ensuring studies and investigations are completed within scope, timeframe and costs. Assist with undertaking procurement and effective project risk management.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Providing expert advice and preparing complex ministerial correspondence, reports, briefing notes, cabinet submissions and other general correspondence on behalf of the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General, General Manager and Executive Director.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
- It is a condition of employment for recommended appointee/s to disclose any previous serious discipline action taken against them for consideration by the delegate prior to any appointment.
Requirements of the role
- Transport or Major Project Expertise: Knowledge/background in transport infrastructure, especially in a rail and/or broader transport environment and/or experience in Queensland Government project management.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with subject matter experts and various internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Track record of planning, executing and evaluating projects and strategies in alignment with organisational priorities and objectives.
- Communication skills: Highly level interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Foster and maintain strong working relationships and partnerships with leadership and staff to facilitate high quality, business specific solutions with the business.
