The Opportunity
Downer’s Energy & Utilities business is seeking an experienced Procurement Hub Manager – QLD/NSW to lead procurement delivery across multiple infrastructure projects. Reporting to the Procurement Director and based in Queensland/NSW this leadership role will oversee a small but growing team, partnering closely with project delivery and commercial stakeholders across the region.
This is a vital position within our national procurement function, responsible for delivering compliant, strategic, and value-driven procurement outcomes. It will suit someone looking to make a meaningful impact while contributing to the development of sustainable, community-connected projects.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end procurement activity including planning, sourcing, contracting, and supplier management.
- Ensure procurement activity aligns with Downer frameworks, DFA, and relevant legislation.
- Build and maintain strong supplier and internal stakeholder relationships to drive best-for-project outcomes.
- Proactively identify and mitigate procurement-related risks.
- Support and develop your team while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a hands-on, strategic procurement leader who thrives in fast-paced project environments. You’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Law, Quantity Surveying, or similar.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, contracts, or project management within construction, utilities, or infrastructure.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience in supplier engagement, tendering, and contract negotiation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with a drive for continuous improvement.
