We are seeking an experienced Product Compliance Manager to join our Bunnings Risk & Compliance Team. If you are a Product/Quality Engineer or Buyer in the building and construction space with sound knowledge of product compliance, we encourage you to apply for this role.


About the Role:

Joining a supportive and collaborative team as the Product Compliance Manager , you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing product compliance processes and quality assurance controls. These efforts will minimize risk, support safety and compliance requirements, reduce the impact of incidents, and support speed to market while meeting stakeholder expectations and driving the Bunnings merchandising strategy. You will ensure the prompt delivery of safe, fit-for-purpose, and quality products that meet customer requirements, exceed relevant standards or regulations, and align with Bunnings' internal and commercial expectations.

As the subject matter expert in building product compliance and manufacturing practices, you will influence industry and regulator policy to drive change, educate, and raise awareness among the team, customers, and supply chain.


You will additionally be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing tools, educational training, and awareness materials for Bunnings stores, support teams, and supply chains.
  • Building strategic networks with key stakeholders, government, industry, and experts.
  • Driving process improvements to guide merchandising strategy and ranging decisions.


About You

You are an experienced compliance professional, a critical thinker, and a problem solver adept at risk-based decision-making. You have the ability to interpret complex data, standards, regulations, specifications, and test reports. Highly organized with great attention to detail, you excel at working autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team. Your strong leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills, coupled with excellent presentation and communication skills—both verbal and written—have earned you a solid reputation in your career.

You will additionally have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Quality Assurance, product development, engineering, or a relevant discipline are essential.
  • Postgraduate tertiary qualification in risk management or compliance is desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail or consumer product compliance, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • High-level understanding of current AU/NZ product regulations and standards.
  • Demonstrated understanding of product risk management methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary consumer product safety issues and risks.
  • Working knowledge of product design standards, QA/QC protocols, and incident responses.
  • Familiarity with the National Construction Code, National and State (AU/NZ) Mandatory product standards, regulations, and Codes of Practice.
  • Specialized knowledge of building product-related quality and compliance requirements.
