Primary objective
As a member of Ti Tree School leadership team you will lead, coordinate, and implement systemic policy and strategy to improve student
outcomes. This position uses knowledge, skills and understanding of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment to provide advice,
professional learning, capacity build and develop resources.
Context statement
Ti Tree School is located 192kms north of Alice Springs on the Stuart Highway. Ti Tree School is classified as a Remote Category 1 school
and is 2 hours from Alice Springs, up the Stuart Highway. It provides schooling to students from playgroup to Year 10. The school operates
a playgroup, preschool, two primary classes and a middle-years class. There are 5 classroom teachers and 8 Aboriginal Team Teachers.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide differentiated support to teachers to build the data literacy capacity of school staff to strengthen instruction in English and
numeracy for student outcome improvement.
2. Build the capacity of school staff to deliver the Australian Curriculum through an approach that is flexible and responsive to school
needs.
3. Work collaboratively with school staff within Ti Tree School to assist with accessing and analysing data to support teacher capability
building.
4. Use data literacy practices and analysis to inform and implement mathematics professional learning in order to achieve improved
school-wide outcomes.
5. Develop and maintain comprehensive and effective professional networks and collaborative partnerships to achieve outcomes.
6. Data collection, understanding of the Assistant Teacher standards, workload trends and program development to achieve an integrated
best practice approach to service delivery.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in coordinating and leading initiatives and/or projects in school contexts, to show impact with a focus on
continuous improvement.
2. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with partners using the inquiry cycle to design and achieve agreed outcomes.
3. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships using high level interpersonal skills.
4. High level of proficiency in developing, leading, and evaluating professional learning for curriculum, teaching, learning, and assessment
in the primary years of schooling.
5. A thorough knowledge and understanding Northern Territory education strategic policy and practice issues associated with the
Australian Curriculum with discipline knowledge in English or mathematics and an understanding of its application at the local level.
6. Build and maintain effective relationships within the school, internal networks and corporate partners using an approach that is
culturally responsive.
Desirable
• Experience with building capacity of teachers in literacy and numeracy through coaching and mentoring
