We’re looking for energetic, people-focused team players to help bring our programs to life at WSAC — Wangaratta’s vibrant hub for sport, swimming, fitness and fun!
As a Casual Programs Officer, you’ll help deliver fun, engaging programs that get the community moving — from social sport to kids’ activities and everything in between.
At WSAC, you’ll support a variety of recreational programs including Active Kids pre-school sessions, social sport, gymnastics support, birthday parties, and school sessions. Your passion for sport and active recreation will shine as you work alongside the Programs Team Leader to create more opportunities for the community to get involved, stay active, and have fun.
With daytime, evening, and weekend shifts available, this role offers the flexibility to fit your lifestyle while making a real impact.
What you’ll be doing:
- Creating fun, engaging experiences for people of all ages
- Supporting program delivery in our pool, stadium, and activity spaces
- Running Active Kids sessions, social sports, school programs and more
- Making birthday parties exciting and memorable
- Ensuring safe, inclusive and welcoming environments for all participants
What you bring:
- A love for sport, movement and helping others enjoy being active
- A positive attitude and great people skills — especially with kids and families
- The ability to think on your feet and work well in a team
- Reliability, initiative, and a big dose of energy!
Minimum qualifications:
- HLTAID003 Provide first aid (able to be obtained with support upon employment)
- HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (able to be obtained with supportupon employment)
- Pool Lifeguard (able to be obtained with support upon employment)
- Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory Working with Children Check
- Must obtain and maintain a satisfactory Police Check
Desirable Qualifications:
- Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or equivalent
- Diploma in sports, leisure or recreation management or other relevant discipline
