QA/QC Superintendent – KCGM Mill Expansion Project
We’re seeking a highly skilled QA/QC Superintendent to join our KCGM gold processing plant expansion project and take responsibility for all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities during the construction phase. Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll oversee contractor compliance, lead a small team of QA/QC Coordinators, and ensure the successful delivery of quality outcomes across all disciplines.This role is on a rolling 2/1 roster FIFO from Perth to Kalgoorlie.
Here’s what awaits you:
- Supervising and auditing EPC contractor QA/QC processes, including ITPs, welding procedures, and material certifications
- Ensuring compliance with Australian Standards (e.g. AS/NZS 4024, AS/NZS 1554) and project-specific requirements
- Coordinating inspections and liaising with OEMs and regulatory bodies
- Reviewing supplier quality documentation and managing NCR closeouts, corrective actions, and dossiers
- Monitoring construction across earthworks, concrete, mechanical, piping, platework & tanks, electrical, and instrumentation & control systems
- Leading quality meetings and providing clear QA/QC reporting to the project leadership team
- Supporting commissioning and handover with complete and accurate quality records
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Extensive QA/QC experience in mining or heavy industrial construction, ideally in gold or mineral processing plants
- Strong knowledge of EPC contracts and quality management systems
- Relevant QA/QC certifications such as welding inspection or NDT (highly regarded)
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, engage, and manage contractors effectively
Qualifications:
- Certification in welding inspection, NDT, or other relevant QA/QC disciplines is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage contractor relationships effectively.
