About the Role
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.
RPAH is recruiting a Full time Administrative Officer to complement and enhance the current Release of Information team. The position is based onsite in the main hospital working business hours.
The Release of Information Officer is responsible for facilitating and processing all access requests for personal health information made under the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002. This involves liaison with various stakeholders including health care professionals and other health facilities, patients and their authorised representatives, third parties, government agencies, law enforcement and statutory agencies.

Ideal Candidate
Ability to abstract relevant personal health information from paper and electronic medical records in line with release of information policies, procedures and privacy legislation.
Has capacity to retain and apply knowledge of established release of information policies and legislative requirements to day-to-day decision making.
