Are you an experienced leader in the payroll and remuneration space who can easily apply their knowledge and skillset to new systems? We are seeking an experienced Remuneration Manager to lead the Payroll team in our People & Culture unit. About the Role:
As the Remuneration Manager reporting to the Workplace Relations & Systems Manager, you will play a key role in leading and managing the Payroll team while championing a customer-focused approach. You will also ensure remuneration processes such as annual review increases, job evaluation, and above-Award arrangements are managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end payroll services to ensure employees are paid accurately in a timely manner and all processes and procedures are followed, including end of month and end of financial year requirements.
- Coach, evaluate and monitor the Payroll team’s performance and ensure services provided are delivered effectively and efficiently.
- Be the SME for payroll and remuneration related projects and contribute to other projects across P&C.
- Develop and provide information and training to employees as necessary related to payroll and timekeeping processes.
- Work closely with Finance and auditors on reporting and data requirements.
- Review and develop internal controls, procedures and processes to ensure compliance with payroll, superannuation and taxation related legislation.
- Manage the job evaluation process to ensure position gradings are consistent.
- Oversee and lead the annual salary review cycle.
- Conduct research into market rates of pay to assist with non-standard remuneration scenarios.
What We're Looking For:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, accounting or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' payroll experience in a large and complex organisation, including leading an end-to-end payroll function where employees are Award-covered.
- Demonstrated experience working with contemporary HRIS and payroll systems and software. At Council we use Aurion, Oracle and Kronos.
- Experience working with remuneration frameworks, Award wages and allowances.
- Certification and experience in job evaluation processes.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Demonstrated ability in meeting deadlines and tight timeframes, with a strong attention to detail.
- Sound understanding of current legislation, developments and trends in payroll.
- Able to develop positive working relationships with employees across all levels of the organization.
What’s on offer
We are offering a competitive remuneration package of $146,512 to $161,317 base salary plus 12% superannuation.
