Research Assistant

Department of the Legislative Assembly – Environment and Planning Committee
  • Part-time (0.6 FTE), fixed term until 11 September 2026.
  • PoV 4 ($97,955 - $111,142) pro rata plus 12% superannuation
We are seeking an experienced Research Assistant who possesses exceptional written, analytical and organisational skills.
About the role
Reporting to a Committee Manager, you will provide high-level research and administrative support to the Environment and Planning Committee on a part-time basis, working three days each week.
In this varied role, you will support the Committee's inquiries, drafting briefing papers and report chapters, preparing correspondence, formatting documents and reports, and when required, preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, updating the Committee's website and organising travel and accommodation.
About you
You will be a team player with strong written and analytical skills and a proven capacity to undertake research and prepare correspondence, briefings and reports. You will have highly developed communication, administrative, computer and organisational skills.
Your ability to work with minimal supervision to complete tasks within tight time constraints paired with your ability to deal with the challenge of working in an all-party political environment will be the key to your success in this role.
