About genU Training
genU Training and Activ Pathways are RTOs delivering nationally recognised qualifications and vocational short courses that produce real, job-ready outcomes for students. We pride ourselves on creating inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning experiences across accredited and non-accredited programs.
About The Role
Do you love turning data into meaningful action? This brand-new role gives you the chance to improve student outcomes and shape the future of our RTOs.
As our Retention Specialist, you’ll dig into the “why” behind the numbers—why students stay, why they leave, and what we can do better. Your insights will help shape strategies to improve student retention, engagement, and overall experience across both RTOs.
You’ll work closely with leadership, trainers, and student support teams to understand what’s working, where the risks are, and how to continuously improve. We’re looking for someone curious, collaborative, and values-driven, who can make sense of complex information and turn it into actionable improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and report student feedback, engagement, attendance, and completion data.
Analyse trends and at-risk groups, turning insights into practical recommendations.
Develop and evaluate initiatives to improve student engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
Collect, clean, and visualise data through dashboards and reports for leadership and operational teams.
Collaborate with stakeholders across teams to implement and improve retention strategies.
Contribute to continuous improvement and compliance, keeping student outcomes front of mind.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in VET, higher education, training, or a related field, particularly in student support or retention (any industry background is welcome).
Curious and analytical mindset—someone who asks “why?” and uses data to drive change using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships, collaborate, and influence across teams.
Organised, proactive, and able to balance multiple priorities while keeping the big picture in mind.
Awareness of RTO operations, compliance, and quality standards is a plus.
NDIS Screening Workers Check and NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate of Completion (or willingness to obtain).
Why Join Us?
Be part of a values-driven, collaborative team making a real difference for students.
Work on meaningful projects that directly impact engagement and student outcomes.
Flexible hybrid work options in a supportive environment that encourages curiosity and growth.
Opportunities to bring your knowledge, ideas, and perspective to a brand-new role.
