Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting)
As a Senior Accountant (Financial Reporting) with Convera based in our Sydney office, you will assist in the preparation of audited statutory financial statements and quarterly board financials, while also assisting the overall global reporting structure with ongoing variance analysis. This role will report to a local Lead accountant in Sydney with additional contact with Convera’s Global Director of Financial Reporting, in the United States.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing both audited and unaudited financials for both quarterly and annual filings
- Coordinate with multiple other functions in multiple jurisdictions, examples are regulatory reporting and tax, to ensure proper numbers and preparation.
- Coordination with the global financial reporting with various transfer pricing calculations and recharges on a monthly basis
- Participate in process improvement projects ensuring effective accounting operations and compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulations
- Keep current on new accounting standards and pronouncements for multiple reporting standards
- Minimum 1 day per week at our modern central Sydney office with water views (close to Wynyard Station). Flexibility to work from home x4 days per week.
You should apply if you have:
- 3 years’ (minimum) experience in accounting
- Worked in a medium to large organization ($40m-$500m turnover) and been involved in end to end audit and financial statements preparation (including liaising with auditors, preparing schedules and drafting financials).
- High attention to detail to complete projects and meet deadlines
- ACCA/CPA or local equivalent is preferred
- Strong understanding and command of IFRS accounting standards and a degree in Business Management/ Finance / Accounting or related
- You must also be comfortable with Microsoft Excel and have a good level of English language
- Full ongoing working rights in Australia are required to be considered for this role.
