What’s the role?
In this high profile and business critical role, you’ll play a vital role in gathering requirements for the Data Stream as well as leading, supporting, and embedding effective compliance, risk and control practices to support a high-profile, time-critical UNITE program focused on uplifting testing environments and integrating multiple application layers across a complex technology landscape.
No two days will be the same as you will will work closely with the Delivery Leads, Project Managers, Product Owners and various technical and business stakeholders to gather, validate and develop documentation inputs.
This role is part in the UNITE program which will be Westpac’s biggest transformation project ever. It is a business-led, tech-enabled transformation - delivering simplification and benefits for our customers, employees and shareholders.

Key responsibilities:
- Gather and assess test data requirements from multiple stakeholders
- Translate technical and business requirements into clear, concise documentation for different audiences.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to document business processes, workflows, and procedures.
- Collaborate with SMEs, delivery teams, and control owners to ensure documentation aligns with compliance, risk, and security standards
- Support readiness and assurance activities by producing documentation that meets compliance expectations.
- Map current-state and future-state processes and identify operational gaps or improvement areas.
- Provide recommendations for process re-design and improvements that support Westpac to achieve targeted business outcomes and deliver business value
- Support knowledge transfer from project to BAU by coordinating walkthroughs and handovers.
- Ensure all deliverables are version-controlled, stored in approved repositories, and follow enterprise documentation standards.
- Ongoing uplift of JIRA set up for Data streams.
What do you need to succeed?
- Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst or Process Analyst working in large-scale enterprise programs.
- Strong capability in producing structured documentation: business requirements, process maps, operational guides, and support runbooks.
- Deep experience capturing and documenting business and technical processes in compliance-driven and regulated environments (e.g. Banking & Financial Services, Healthcare).
- Advanced familiarity with risk, compliance, and security frameworks and the ability to incorporate these into robust documentation.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including facilitating workshops and interviews.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to write clearly for multiple audiences (technical and non-technical)
- Advanced proficiency in using tools such as MS Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Confluence, SharePoint, & JIRA.
- Solid experience working with Data Products with a technical background is advantageous.
- Commercially astute with outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to cater your language and style to suit your audience.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and deliver in high-pressure environments.
