What’s the role?
Working in our independent Portfolio Management analysis team, you’ll be an active contributor supporting Westpac’s strategic growth initiative in Corporate Agribusiness, where finance meets the farm gate and beyond, Australia wide. From large-scale farming enterprises of every type, including vertically integrated businesses that grow, process and market their own and other peoples produce, to firms that help deliver agricultural commodities across the supply chain in Australia and around the globe, you’ll help shape smart lending decisions that support Australia’s agricultural backbone. You’ll work closely with Relationship Directors and Executive Credit Partners and meet with farmers and investors, to bring clarity to complex deals. Based in Sydney, you’ll play a key role in shaping debt structures, sizing loans, and delivering credit papers and reviews that are clear, concise, and ready for decision.
What do I need?
We’re after someone who’s sharp, curious, and ready to make an impact. Here’s what’ll help you thrive:
- Proven experience as a Senior Credit Analyst dealing with large scale agri-businesses enterprises, ranging in scope from family owned and operated farms to corporatised borrowing and investment structures including investment grade; super funds, private equity, ASX and sovereign wealth entities.
- Strong credit analysis skills, especially in cash flow lending and corporate products required for complex transactions.
- Confidence to influence decisions and drive appropriate outcomes under tight timeframes.
- Ability to produce professional, concise, well-structured credit reports.
- Solid understanding of financial products and markets. Agribusiness experience and knowledge of agricultural risk are a bonus, but not a must.
- Relationship-building skills that span farmers, bankers, and boardrooms.
