We’re currently seeking an experienced Shotfirer (Explosives Supervisor) to join our high-performing team, working across our Gunnedah Open Cut operations. Reporting to the Drill & Blast Superintendent, this is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where you’ll oversee safe and efficient blasting activities.
What You’ll Do

• Safely manage and execute daily blast operations in accordance with site procedures and regulatory requirements
• Handle, transport and store explosives safely and efficiently
• Conduct risk assessments, pre-blast inspections and post-blast evaluations
• Work closely with drill & blast and production teams to meet schedule and quality targets
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with legislative and company standards
• Provide on-the-ground supervision and leadership to the blast crew

What You’ll Bring

• Current NSW Shotfirer licence or equivalent recognised interstate licence
• Previous open cut coal experience in a similar role
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Current Order 43 Medical or the ability to undergo the assessment as part of the recruitment process
• Strong safety focus and communication skills
• Ability to work in a high-performance team environment
