The Animal Referral Hospital Homebush has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and professional individual to work and learn in a busy but supportive specialist referral and emergency hospital on an internship for 12-18 months. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain the skills and experience to progress on to a residency and specialisation.

Job Description
The Internship Experience
Picture this: you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a team of skilled specialists, experienced nurses, and passionate support staff. From day one, you'll be fully immersed in the exciting world of small animal veterinary medicine with close involvement with our other departments (surgery, oncology, radiology, ophthalmology and emergency). With an emphasis on work-life balance there are no evening shifts required. This is your chance to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of furry companions and their devoted owners.
Qualifications
Your Responsibilities
As an intern, you'll be at the forefront of veterinary care, participating in a variety of tasks that will challenge and inspire you. Here's just a taste of what you can expect:
- You will assist in medical case management and be closely involved in the assessment, diagnosis and care of a diverse variety of challenging medical cases
- Observing and assisting in surgical procedures, both routine and complex
- Participating in rounds, case discussions, and workshops to enhance your knowledge and practical skills.
- Providing compassionate care to our furry patients and their families, offering support and empathy during challenging times
Qualifications
We're seeking candidates who embody our core values of compassion, dedication, and a genuine love for animals. Here are the prerequisites for applying:
- Eligible for Veterinary registration in NSW
- Ideally 1 year of clinical experience or a strong knowledge base on which to build.
- Demonstrated passion for small animal veterinary medicine
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Eagerness to learn and a growth mindset
