About the Role
This position is part time 0.8 FTE fixed term until 31 December 2026.
School Sport Victoria (SSV) has a unique opportunity for an experienced and multi sport professional to work at SSV across State Championships and National programs. The successful applicant will work as part of the Operations Team and National Programs Team. 85% of the role is State Championships related and 15% National Championships. However, flexibility is required as the number of work days and times are dependent on event and role operational requirements.
The primary purpose of this role is to work in conjunction with the State Championships Officer to plan, budget and co-ordinate the delivery of the School Sport Victoria State Championships. Together , with others in the Interschool Sport Team, ensure the implementation of the SSV Child Safe Officer Program and Positive Behaviour Rules related to interschool sport. The role also provides administrative and operational assistance for National Championships events hosted in Victoria.
The specific responsibilities for the role will be advised by the Operations Manager taking into consideration the expertise and skill set of the person appointed and the calendar of events.
The role is responsible for liaising with State Sporting Organisations, local councils, venue operators, caterers, specialist staff suppliers, first aid suppliers as well as staff in the Operations Team and other SSV staff. The role requires the ability to use software programs including preparation of draws, appointment of umpires/referees, booking of venues, uploading of results, information and the use of sports competition software. The role also requires a strong understanding of the sporting sector, our key partners and the education sector. There is a requirement to travel to and from events to set up, convene and support staff running Championships and support teachers and SSV staff.
From time to time the role requires out of hours work and assisting with other SSV programs and activities.

Within SEPS, the Statewide Programs and Tech Schools Division (SPaTS) delivers policy, programs and resources to:
- Assist all students to thrive at schools, particularly those facing financial hardship
- Support teachers deliver the curriculum, both inside and outside the classroom, in ways that support student learning and wellbeing - through Tech Schools and STEM centres, School Sports Victoria, swimming programs, State Schools Spectacular, the Strategic Partnerships Program and English as an Additional Language resources
- Support priority cohorts of students, including CALD and refugee students, and rural and regional students
