About the Role
Our client is currently seeking a Strategic Data & Policy Analyst to join our team. The primary role of the Data Analyst is to contribute to the formulation of universal preschool policy options and assist in developing business cases for Universal Preschool implementation. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience and be confident working within a cross-functional project team in an iterative policy development environment. While this role has no direct reports, close collaboration with key stakeholders will be essential.
Responsibilities:
- Design, test, and maintain advanced financial models using both primary and secondary data sources
- Validate model inputs and underlying assumptions for accuracy and reliability
- Present complex financial data through visualisation tools in a clear, decision-friendly format
- Prepare financial analysis aligned with government financial management guidelines to support business case development.
- Assist in defining metrics and identifying key success indicators
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to ensure effective model development and delivery
- Establish and uphold data standards and governance protocols to maintain data integrity, quality, and security
Skills & Experience:
- Strong technical skills in developing, testing, and maintaining complex financial models
- Proficiency with data visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Experience working with large datasets from primary and secondary sources
- Skilled in validating modelling inputs and ensuring data accuracy and integrity
- Familiarity with business case development and cost-benefit analysis frameworks
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional project teams
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills at all levels
- Knowledge of data governance, standards, and quality control best practices
- High attention to detail and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in data analysis, financial modelling, or a related field
