Your Opportunity
As the Student Pathways Officer, you will play a key role in supporting prevocational and school-based students to identify and secure meaningful career pathways. You will actively contribute to student retention and successful education outcomes through aligning student learning objectives with workforce development and career opportunities.
This position reports to the Manager, Commercial Business.
This is a Permanent Full Time opportunity.
The position will be based primarily at the Ashmore Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Foster effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support prevocational and school-based student retention and progression into vocational pathways.
Liaise with students, employers and teachers to identify pathway roadblocks and realign student objectives to successfully transition to new employment opportunities to ensure continued engagement in vocational education and training.
Deliver on individual performance targets and contribute to team Key Performance Indicators (KPI) by applying effective Student Pathway revenue and retention strategies, in collaboration with the Business Development Officers
Proactively identify relevant business development opportunities and engage with students and prospective employers to drive revenue growth and support retention.
Research and identify industry employment and workforce trends to provide stakeholders current and reliable information on vocational pathway options that generate student retention and successful revenue outcomes.
Apply adaptable and sound judgment in responding to challenges or change, making reliable choices that support student and client-focused outcomes.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of TAFE Queensland Gold Coast programs, products, services, and systems to provide accurate advice, effective communication, and high-quality service delivery to stakeholders.
Work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment, maintaining regular communication with the manager and team, and deliver measurable work outcomes.
Align day-to-day activities with business objectives and contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and service practices.
Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness, and sustainability.
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
Demonstrated sound knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire a sound knowledge of vocational education and training programs and student pathways to provide accurate and timely student focused guidance.
Strong research and analytical skills to identify workforce trends and employment opportunities to inform effective sales and retention strategies to enhance vocational pathway outcomes and navigate pathway roadblocks for students, employers and educators.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including a proven ability to effectively liaise, consult and negotiate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to support student retention and progression into vocational pathways.
Proven ability to manage administration tasks using digital systems and tools, with competing work demands to meet deadlines that lead to accurate records, clear outcome tracking and a seamless service support to all stakeholders.
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment to achieve individual performance targets and contribute to team KPI's through proactive engagement and a strong commitment to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications/Requirements
There are no mandatory qualifications for this position. However, demonstrated work experience in a similar or related role, along with current knowledge of the VET sector, relevant industry vocational pathways, and workforce trends, is highly desirable.
