About this position

Are you ready to lead a team that's making a real impact in sustainability and waste management? The City of Gosnells is seeking a proactive and experienced Supervisor Waste - Resource Recovery & Contracts to oversee our resource recovery services and bulk waste operations.

In this hands-on leadership role, you will supervise a team of 11 staff and manage bulk waste contractors to ensure efficient, high-quality waste collection services. You will play a key part in maintaining fleet standards, responding to illegal dumping, and improving operational systems.

This is a permanent position and is based at the City's Operations Centre in Maddington.

What we are looking for

To be successful, you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Technical knowledge and experience in operating various waste collection vehicles
  • Sound financial and contract monitoring skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
  • Excellent organisational and administrative abilities
  • Intermediate computer skills, particularly in the MS Office suite

Essential requirements

  • HR driver's licence.
  • Current Police Clearance (less than three months old) Please note: This is not essential to apply for the role but will be required at a later stage as it is an appointment condition.

Desirable requirements

  • Certificate IV or higher qualification in Waste Management, Frontline Management, or related field.
  • Prior experience working within the waste industry with proven experience in a supervisory role.
