Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation (MHAC) is seeking a dynamic Talent Acquisition Team Leader to drive innovative and culturally aligned workforce strategies across East Arnhem Land. This pivotal leadership role will shape how we attract, onboard, and retain talent by embedding Miwatj values into every stage of the employee lifecycle. You will partner with leaders to align recruitment with organisational needs, coach and upskill the People & Culture team, and oversee end-to-end talent acquisition, onboarding, and agency partnerships. With a focus on data-driven insights, continuous improvement, and future-ready workforce planning, this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact in a community-controlled health setting while fostering strong pipelines and succession pathways.

Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to providing quality services across East Arnhem Land and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary and public health for over 6,000 residents of this remote landscape. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, and a Corporate Office in Darwin, our delivery is focused on 7 health centres across East Arnhem Land and dedicated outreach teams who travel to additional locations.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be great at building strong relationships and working with a wide range of people. You’ll be a supportive leader who can lift engagement and satisfaction, with a genuine passion for people, learning and helping others reach their potential. You’ll bring curiosity and a focus on outcomes, while staying organised and proactive in managing your work. You’ll also have a good understanding of workforce costs and how to make practical, value-driven decisions. Clear communication, attention to detail, and confidence in writing and presenting are important, along with experience running end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and succession processes. You’ll have a track record of improving how talent is attracted and supported, and be comfortable working with agencies and other partners. An understanding of Aboriginal Community Control, Yolŋu community contexts, and the ability to design people-focused recruitment processes will be highly valued. You should also be confident using MS Office, recruitment platforms, and other sourcing tools..
