The Design and Finishing Trades Department at Holmesglen delivers a diverse range of programs spanning fashion and interior design, furniture manufacturing and upholstery, trowel trades, painting, and printing. Our offerings support students across various stages of their educational journey, with qualifications ranging from Certificate II through to advanced diplomas and degree-level programs.
As a Teacher – Wall and Ceiling Lining, you will play a key role in training and mentoring apprentices undertaking the CPC31220 Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining. This qualification provides comprehensive preparation for careers in the wall and ceiling lining industry across both domestic and commercial settings. In this role, you will teach a wide range of practical and theoretical skills, including fixing wall and ceiling sheets, installing ornamental cornices, suspended ceilings, fibre cement board, and interpreting construction plans. You will also guide students in developing essential workplace skills such as communication, problem solving, and safe work practices.
At Holmesglen, you will be part of a supportive teaching team, providing hands-on training, expert guidance, and industry insights that equip apprentices with the confidence and knowledge to succeed in the construction industry.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Strong trade background in wall and ceiling lining, with practical industry experience.
- Proven ability to instruct students from varied backgrounds using adaptable strategies, supporting multicultural awareness and equity in learning.
- Experience in implementing latest training and assessment strategies to meet student and course requirements.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE 40122 or equivalent predecessor or successor qualifications.
- An approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area, or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed.
- WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
