Airbus has an opportunity for a passionate person to join our Edinburgh team and lead the Maintenance workforce as the Team Lead Maintenance Support.
Based at RAAF Base Edinburgh, Airbus work with multiple agencies to support the P-8A, MC-55, MQ-4C and ISR programs.
About the role
As a member of the Edinburgh Maintenance Team, this role is responsible for directly leading maintenance teams in delivering contracted maintenance outcomes for SRG at Edinburgh. The Team Lead Maintenance Support works in accordance and complies with all processes, systems and tools set by the Edinburgh Maintenance Manager, to enable service delivery excellence.
The scope of the Team Lead Maintenance Support encompasses all maintenance functions within the Fixed Wing Maintenance and ISR program Edinburgh, supporting the P-8A Manager of Maintenance in planning and scheduling P-8A maintenance working with SRG Fleet Planner and respective Integrated Maintenance Planning Cells. Scheduling and management of the SRG paint requirements ensuring the correct prioritisation of staff and resources across all SRG programs.
Reporting to the Manager Edinburgh Maintenance, but responsive to the Edinburgh SRG Requirements for DASR Part 145 and Part M Regulatory Compliance, you will lead maintenance teams to execute maintenance functions assigned to you through agreed Program Work Authorities to maintain a high level of operational capability with the P-8A, MC-55, MQ-4C and ISR programs.
Some of your day-to-day activities will include but are not limited to:
- Support the safe and successful execution of Maintenance Services assigned to the Edinburgh site by Prime Contractor
- Empower and enable Direct Reports to achieve their KPIs and service targets
- Identify new opportunities and assist in the development of associated business cases for enhancement of maintenance services
- Support the management of hot topics and escalation process in Maintenance
- Ability to work closely with prime contractor to clear road-blocks to empower and enable the team to deliver on their accountabilities to the end user
- Ensure safety and maintenance compliance across both sites and platforms, ensuring all AIRS reports and maintenance investigations are closed out in a timely manner and shared with the Commonwealth
About you
To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in and lead a high performing team environment, have experience in people management and leading a united team in the achievement of measurable results and strategic goals, as well as good verbal and written skills.
You will need to be someone who is able to work to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment, driving the workforce with a proactive and positive approach to change.
The knowledge and experience best suited to this role include:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Aeroskills, or equivalent relevant experience with an extensive technical background
- Detailed knowledge of all facets of maintenance management, including maintenance management systems, planning, equipment and parts management, and maintenance delivery types (base/deeper/operational/flight line/component etc.)
- Understanding of interdependencies between maintenance, support engineering, and supply chain
- Demonstrated track record in driving process improvement, balancing best practices with contractual/service requirements
- Sound knowledge of applicable aviation maintenance legislation and regulations (e.g. CASR, DASR), standards

- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and customer satisfaction, balancing best practices with contractual/service requirements
- Proven planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing deadlines and timeframes
- Capable of enforcing maintenance control processes for AAP's business in compliance with corporate / regulatory standards
- Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Products (Access, Word, Excel) and advanced data analysis skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build long-lasting, collaborative relationships with peers
