Lead our Better Futures team in Gippsland, guiding practitioners who support young people (15-21) transitioning from care to independence. Help them build skills and futures using the Advantaged Thinking model, located in Morwell 3840

- Team Leadership: Guide and motivate staff to meet program goals, monitor caseloads, and ensure the team follows the Advantaged Thinking framework.
- Employee Support: Assist with employee selection and induction, provide daily support and formal supervision, and help identify training needs.
- Service Delivery: Focus on providing holistic, person-centered support to young people and their families, ensuring they have access to relevant and essential services, and empowering practitioners to build trusting relationships and facilitate smooth transitions.
- Community Development & Networking: Participate in community development by disseminating information to other agencies and working cooperatively with government and
non-government organisations to maintain an effective service system. - Leadership and Strategy: Contribute to program planning, identify quality improvement initiatives, and manage program budgets at an operational level.
The Ideal Candidate will bring:
- Leadership and experience: Proven leadership skills and experience in supervising employees who work with clients transitioning to independence. The candidate should have extensive experience in individual, family, and adolescent support, as well as a strong background in case management.
- Knowledge and skills: A working knowledge of the child protection system and the challenges young people face when leaving care is essential. The ideal candidate should also understand social and political issues impacting this client group and have knowledge of the Advantaged Thinking model of practice.
- Networking and communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to effectively engage with young people, families, colleagues, and community organisations. A commitment to building strong service networks and partnerships, along with knowledge of Gippsland-based resources.
- Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence |Working with Children Check |Police Check.
- Minimum Diploma of Community Services or other appropriate tertiary qualification/s and/or experience relevant to this position, (refer to Position Description).
