About the role
As a valued member of the Parks & Streetscape Operations team, you will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Council’s parks, sportsfields, open spaces, and recreational areas. Your work will directly support the delivery of high-quality day-labour services that align with the goals of Council’s Community Strategic Plan.
Reporting to the Parks Maintenance Team Leader, you will carry out a range of operational tasks and activities that help the team meet its performance targets and service commitments. You’ll work collaboratively within a supportive team environment and engage with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of services that benefit the local community.
This role is ideal for someone who is community-focused, takes pride in outdoor work, and thrives in a team setting. You’ll be working closely with the Parks and Streetscape Operations Manager, Coordinator Parks & Sportsfields Maintenance, and your Team Leader to contribute to the ongoing success and improvement of Council’s green spaces.

Remuneration
$61,783.28 - $67,504.32 + 12% Superannuation
Some of the required skills, experience and qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Relevant horticultural qualification OR equivalent industry experience in parks and sportsfields operations.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to learn to use field devices (eg. tablets) for managing daily team work plans.
- Understanding and commitment to equal employment opportunities, diversity, work health and safety, ethical practice and acting with probity at all times.
- Class C Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence.
- Suitable level of fitness to perform the inherent duties of the position.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working in Local Government.
- ChemCert or equivalent qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience with field devices (eg. tablets) for managing daily team work plans.
