About the role – 12-month, full-time fixed-term contract
We’re on an exciting journey to deliver high-quality, reliable data pipelines that underpin our business decisions and digital services. Our ETL Testers will directly contribute to ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of data across multiple systems, supporting a seamless data-driven environment.
As an ETL Tester, you will play a key role in validating and verifying data integration processes, transformations, and end-to-end data flows. Working closely with Data Engineers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and scripts across the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), with a focus on data quality, reconciliation, and reporting accuracy. Your day will include performing data validation, identifying gaps, troubleshooting discrepancies, and supporting testing across staging, target, and downstream systems.
This fast-paced role operates in a dynamic data environment, requiring strong analytical skills, stakeholder collaboration, and expertise in ETL and testing tools and methodologies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Test, validate, monitor, and troubleshoot ETL processes and data pipelines in distributed environments.
- Develop, maintain, and execute manual and automated test scripts for ETL processes.
- Review and produce detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks across multiple sources and targets.
- Identify and automate repetitive or manual test cases where applicable.
- Review requirements, design documents, and data models, providing feedback to stakeholders on completeness, correctness, traceability, and testability.
- Develop reusable test assets for use in Unit Testing, System Testing, Data Testing, Systems Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production Verification Testing (PVT).
- Use exploratory testing to enhance overall testing capabilities.
- Experience in the following tools and technologies will be highly regarded: e.g., Azure Databricks, PowerBI, or similar
- Provide guidance to project teams on test standards, guidelines, related processes, templates, and work instructions.
About you
You will have at least two years of experience in software or ETL testing, preferably within banking, finance, or other data-intensive environments. You are comfortable navigating complex data flows, performing reconciliation, and validating critical business reports. Experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and large-scale ETL pipelines will be highly valued.
You thrive in fast-paced, dynamic settings, with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to evolving requirements. Your strength lies in structured, risk-based testing and stakeholder collaboration. While manual testing is your core skill, experience in automation frameworks and big data validation is highly regarded.
