Montefiore currently has an opportunity for an Allied Health Therapy Assistant to join our team of professionals at our Hunters Hill Campus, on a permanent fulltime basis, to provide support and be an integral part of our inter-disciplinary team. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver an optimum level of quality care on a holistic level.
As a Therapy Assistant you will be responsible for conducting small group exercise classes in the neighbourhoods in consultation with the Physiotherapist, report changes in the consumer’s conditions that affect their health, comfort, safety and the performance of their wellbeing programs. You will utilise your background working within allied health and rehabilitation to both contribute and support the lead allied health professionals within your department.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working within Aged Care or an acute hospital setting within a multi-disciplinary team
- Effective teamwork and adept interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in leading exercise classes
- Ability to work in both a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate documentation skills relevant to an Aged Care, care planning setting
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to form a strong rapport and relationship with consumers and staff
- Display a high level of initiative and pride in supporting the team and consumers we look after
- Mental Health and Dementia awareness
- Minimum of a Certificate III in Aged Care
- Senior First Aid Certificate
