The Berry Street Residential Care Program is one of the most rewarding and challenging roles you can apply for. Your role:

Using best practice therapeutic interventions and guidelines the main role of a Residential Care Worker is to create a safe and nurturing home environment, that provides consistent care for the young people. This includes being a positive role model, supporting young people in their educational, social, and recreational pursuits while fostering independence, as well as managing household duties and providing nutritious meals.

We are embarking on changing the landscape within the Out of Home Care Sector and are bringing in the Teaching Family Model of care. This uses teaching interactions, relationships and skills building which is targeted to reduce problem behaviours and increase prosocial behaviours. This model of care statistically has greater results for our young people in education, general care and reunification with family.

We believe in safety, thriving, and hope for all and strive to make this a reality every day!
