MNP Electrical is a company dealing with the Gearbox, electric motor rewind, repairs, Generator sales and Services and mechanical maintenance in Wetherill Park. With over 15 years’ experience within this industry we have gained a wide range of skills and knowledge, so we are able to provide cost effective and efficient work in a timely manner. We require a full-time trouble shoot and problem solving minded Mechanical Engineer to fill a vacant position due to the recent growth in our business.

General Duties:

• Responsible for leading repairs, maintaining, troubleshooting and rebuild defective mechanical parts in motors, generators, and related equipment using hand tools and power tools.
• Perform all breakdown and preventative maintenance in the workshop and shop floor which includes all mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Inspects parts for wear or damage, reads work orders or schematic drawings to determine required repairs.
• Supervise the procedures for rewinding coils on core while core is in slots or makes replacement coils using coil winding machine.
• Design supportive structure to run cables and exhaust during new generator installation or generator relocation.
• Assembles electrical parts such as Alternators, Generators, starting devices and Switches following schematic drawings using Koi hand, machines and power tools.
• Plan and develop a preventative maintenance schedule for pumps, generators and gearbox to prevent untimely breakdown of machineries.
• Develop maintenance reports and relevant documents for each equipment for future reference
• Conduct Non-Conformance issue meetings and perform brain storming and aim towards maximum productivity with zero defects in all mechanical maintenance procedures.
• Supervise all engineering and non-engineering practices on site for workplace, health and safety of employees.
• Ensure all mechanical equipment used for material handling and repairing purposes are functioning properly with routine maintenance.
• Perform regular and preventative maintenance on Installed generators.
• Diagnose issues with complex control systems and employ tactics to resolve them effectively.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Australian Recognised Mechanical Engineering Degree
• Minimum of 3 yrs. of work experience as a Mechanical engineering
• An understanding of mechanical fundamentals
• Exposure to fault finding and troubleshoot accordingly
• Hands on AutoCAD or Solid works is an advantage
• Ability to read & analyse technical data, design and specification with reference to mechanical system.
• Need a good understanding of local and international standards and specification of mechanical system.
• Understanding of occupational safety standards
