Job Description
Join TAL’s Finance business unit as an Actuarial System Analyst. The Actuarial System team has the responsibility of maintaining, developing, and enhancing our Actuarial Systems in support of liability and capital valuations, embedded value, and business planning.
As an Actuarial System Analyst, your primary responsibilities include developing and enhancing Prophet models to align with defined requirements, integrating up-to-date regulatory interpretations and recommendations from external advisors, optimising model point files, and standardising key modelling methodologies across various models.
This is a 6-month fixed term contract, working flexibly from our Sydney office.
In this role you will:
- Prepare Model design documents based on project/user requirements
- Perform technical review of design documents against project/user requirements and TAL prophet coding standards
- Prepare development environment and perform Prophet coding
- Provide end user support during UAT (explaining and demonstrating new functionality)
- Analyse and specify data requirements for prophet model inputs
- Modify data flow processes (primarily DCS or SQL) to maintain system integration points in line with model changes
- Contribute to the design and build of a results database for prophet model output which meets Actuarial end user reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Tertiary degree in a financial discipline (preferably Actuarial)
- Knowledge and experience with Prophet (programming language and software operation)
- Strong technical skills in programming and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
