The Admissions Supervisor is employed to ensure that all operational requirements of the Admissions team are met, and all deliverables are at standard.
Being assigned to the Admissions team, you are employed to lead the team that ensures our guests enter the Zoo in a friendly and welcoming manner. You are required to be knowledgeable about all our zoo promotions and events as well as our regular daily activities/presentations throughout the Zoo.
You will need to have excellent customer service skills, the ability to lead a team, excellent presentation, provide accurate and current information and work well with others.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated integrity, honesty, flexibility, good energy levels and have the ability to deal with fast paced and high pressure situations with ease.
Duties Include:
- Welcoming and greeting customers, assisting patrons with enquiries.
- Complete all customer service with high standards.
- Point of Sale processing, including register operation, receiving and processing cash and credit card payments. This may include transactions such as ‘Annual passes’ or ‘Group Bookings’.
- Concierge duties, such as: Greeting Guests, assisting with Zebra Crossings, Coordinating Traffic and Liaising with Senior Management regarding any incoming and outgoing traffic.
- Assist guests with arranging public transport (translink and taxi) and coordinating bus pick up/drop off times to suit the Shuttles Team.
- Ensure department Policies and Procedures are all up to date and regularly reviewed.
- Preparing staff daily organisation of the teams’ duties/breaks to ensure compliance with the Award.
- Assist during peak periods within other departments (Guest Services/Food and Beverage) under the direction of your Manager.
- Assist with Crowd Control and customer movements during daily shows and Event Days.
- Maintain the FOC (Free of Charge) entry log and communicate any FOC entries to the Senior Management Team.
- Remain familiar with all Australia Zoo Policies and Procedures, and ensure that any appropriate Emergency Procedures for Admissions are followed appropriately.
- Remain familiar with Australia Zoo’s Hire Procedures and assist in coordinating any Hire processes when required.
- Maintain, clean and tidy Hire equipment upon equipment return.
Essential Criteria:
- Available to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods.
- Experience in a similar role and long term commitment to Australia Zoo.
